I weighed in at 144 lbs Friday, not much difference despite working out every day this week with the daily darebee workouts, getting to level 2 everytime. I’m getting into the swing of working out again and almost feel like I’d be letting myself down if I didn’t.
I’m experiencing some severe shoulder pain though, it popped a week or so ago and has been really sore since. I still can’t get past 1:20 on the deadhang challenge and I think it’s beginning to exacerbate my shoulder. I think this is a classic example of overtraining. So I’m just going to finish out the remaining 3 days hanging on as long as I can and not letting it bother me that I don’t actually make it to 2 minutes. But it’s reached the point that it’s doing more physical harm than good now. You can’t do pullups with a bum shoulder and ultimately that’s the goal with this challenge.
So I’m reminded that it’s important to take a step back sometimes and reevaluate your goals and progress and sometimes admit that we just can’t do it right now. It’s okay to fail. We’re mothers, it’s going to happen no matter how hard we try to avoid it. I may reattempt the deadhang after I’ve lost my remaining 16 lbs and see how long I go, but for now I’m pushing forward and not wasting anymore days trying to attain 1:30.
My thrush is gone thankfully and breastfeeding is once again painless! Yay! I’ve still got about 4 days of medicine left to take and I’m going to finish it out. I’m terrified it’s going to come back.
In other news, potty training is hit or miss. Sometimes my son wants to go and he has done successfully several times, but it’s usually because he’s trying to stall nap time or bedtime, at least it seems that way. He hasn’t shown much interest in going at other times anymore. Hopefully he’ll get the hang of it though.
I have discovered that pullups training pants are the worst for overnight absorbancy. Every morning I’ve had to change his sheets because the pullup leaks through. So we got some huggies overnights to try out. If these don’t work I may have to go back to a regular diaper at nighttime. I’ll post how that goes!
