Sleep, Nesting, Weight, And Post-Birth Workouts

D-day minus 20

I’m definitely starting to feel more ready for this baby. And quite happy with what I’ve accomplished around the house this past week (how sad is that!) – although I am somewhat amazed at how much time domestic stuff takes. Honestly, it’s more exhausting than being at work, and not as though anyone is paying me for it!

Still – the kitchen and dining area are decluttered, so is the baby’s room, and my hospital bag is now nearly packed. If it happened tonight it wouldn’t be the end of the world (please don’t happen tonight!)

I’m averaging around 9-10 hours sleep per night but definitely still need my daytime nap. Amazing how fatiguing it all is at this stage. And my body – everything hurts so much! Am up to 75kg now (that’s 17 in total) which is slightly annoying, although considering I haven’t gained weight for a good 3 or 4 months I suppose I shouldn’t complain. And I’m still not fluid-y, which I definitely attribute to my supplements, to eating well, and to exercising semi-regularly. Or it could just be good luck – who knows!

Lately my thoughts have been more and more about what my ‘plan of action’ will be afterwards. Part of me wants to spring immediately from the delivery bed to the gym, sauna, solarium, Bikram room etc, and the other part is exhausted just thinking about all it’s going to take. Not to mention the logistical nightmare of fitting adequate exercise in, particularly given my hatred for at-home workouts. Where there’s a will right? Still, would be nice to know in advance just what I’ll be physically capable of, the last thing I want to do is let myself put it off for several weeks just because I don’t have a real plan and am not being structured. Yes, I do realize that might sound slightly ridiculous, but I also think that the longer I wait to get back into it, the harder it’s going to be. What’s more, I know that when I start exercising and feeling good about myself, I eat better. And vice versa. Long story short – it’s going to have to start right away. If even with very baby steps. I wonder if the hospital has a gym?

Body plus baby? Easy!*
